Botanical Builders FUN!

On Sunday I had some guests at a Demo day to show off some of some of the newest products from the Occasions catalog. I really wanted to show something not quite ordinary- card- making to spark some ideas! We had a plan that has been lingering for awhile. One of my sisters is into making floral yard ornaments with metal. This flower from the Botanical Builder Framelits is a perfect candidate to try cutting in aluminum. I also think sometimes a card is a little masterpiece and would love to have them on display.
From time to time I have taken classes from my Aunt Sharon on mixed media ...It was time to combine all of those things and create!
I chose a small 4x6 canvas (I was so excited to try this out so...Mrs. Rush...That's Me....  didn't even take time to paint the canvas!) Next time I will add color and all the bells and whistles! I put it together just like a card applying the mats and embellishing.

I first tried to cut a piece of aluminum purchased at the craft store, that appeared too thick to get a real detailed cut. Then I remembered my Grandmother years ago had cut apart pop cans to crochet around them and make hats. Long time ago....for sure! So my younger sister Charlie (the flower maker) set out to cut up a pop can and cut the flower and leaves out on the Big Shot! Wow!... delicate and perfect!!! Maybe an aluminum pan would work too!
The rest was easy! Paint the flowers and leaves with alcohol inks, let them dry and glue to the little masterpiece! Let me tell you, you will be seeing more of this on my blog! So fun! My guests were wowed and we plan another
date to workshop with the idea!!
My new FAVORITE set is The Botanical Builder Framlits Bundle!!!! Be sure to contact me or go to my webpage to order yours...clicking on the product pictures below will take you directly to my on line store!

Here is the product list I used to have some fun... and you can toooo!

You are Just the Nicest!

As many of you may have noticed, I love to search out ideas for cards on Pinterest! This card came from one of those pins! Of course I did not have the products used ...BUT I have so many choices in my Stampin'Up space that I was determined to make it work! The sentiment came from the Picture Perfect stamp set and I know I will use it continually for a quick card to pass on. Also used
 MY FAVORITE    Gorgeous Grunge!
After punching out the hearts I used a fine tip black marker to stitch around them.
Added BLING of course with the  Rhinestone Basic Jewels
AND check it out ...They are on SALE this Week!

There's always time for tea!

Here's a card for one of those days when you drop in on a friend and feel the need to tell them how you value their friendship. This inside sentiment of this one says " And a visit with you!"
Such a simple card using 2 new stamp sets... A Nice Cuppa # 140683  and Watercolor wash # 139538
It doesn't  show in the photo,  but I also used Wink Of Stella to add some shimmer to the words on the cups and the heart.  I had this one ready for the envelope in a jiffy!
Here are the colors I used and the  cardstock choices!

Going Places Happy Birthday collection

I just can't seem to get enough of this combination! LOVE the Going Places designer series paper stack, and the World Traveler embossing folder. It was so much fun embossing the airplane from Sky Is The Limit  stamp set on vellum with gold embossing powder... then fussy cut and pop dot it up on the World Traveler embossed very vanilla card base. I used several of the patterned papers to line the envelopes, this always makes my cards feel a bit richer.

Then I had a thought to do a Congrats card for a fella that got a great promotion!
What a great set to have around for the more masculine card occasions!

Gorgous Grunge Happy New Home

Gorgeous Grunge is a fun stamp set that I used today to make a Happy New Home card! There are so many cute background stamps and splatters in the set to have fun with. This was one of those simple card base and a mat- A2 cards that you can just make several at a time to have in your stash.  I added the little house and the Happy New Home sentiment ... the other 7... I made at the same time I am leaving the sentiment blank until an occasion comes along then I can easily add the sentiment!
This was a new color scheme for me to try also! All 3 colors are from the 2014 -2016 In-Color collection. Sadly these and 2 other colors will be retiring in June. Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow.

Here are the products used in this project...

Tip top Taupe and a Z fold card and NEW WEEKLY DEALS!

When the new catalog first appeared I fell in love with this stamp set Hello Life #137136!
My mission has been to use it on a mixed media project, well have not been successful in that vision, but I decided to make a card with it instead...The Z card fold seemed to work well to show this one for a card making class! TIP TOP TAUPE was the base card color of choice, I love how it looks with Blushing Bride! Could not resist the fun designer paper in the Birthday Bouquet pack!  This was definitely Happy Card making day!
Here are the component's that I used to create this one!

You've Got This!

Here's a great card to have on hand for some of those occasions when you need to give someone a little feel good  greeting! I love this stamp set for the greetings! But the flower and the background stamp just make an awesome statement and are so fun to work with. I stamped the flower on a sheet of vellum cardstock first and put black embossing powder on the image and heat embossed it... then flipped it over and colored the flower from the backside with markers,  which creates a nice "Stained glass" technique. Then I cut around the flower as close to the embossing as I could( Fussy cut.).. After embossing the background  I created a white mat and stamped the large background stamp using watermelon wonder... added the mats to the card base and popped up the vellum flower on it with dimensionals  and added the stamped greeting! Below are most of the Stampin' Up products I used to create this card... Glad you stopped by today, hope you stop back again!
